The World Islands are one of several man-made island complexes in Dubai and are primarily made of sand dredged from the shallow coastal waters of Dubai. The World is being developed by Nakheel Properties, and it was initially planned by Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Two Dutch (joint venture) specialist businesses, Van Oord and Boskalis, carried out the actual building. The Palm Jumeirah was also built by the same firms. World Islands Nakheel Database Online
The World Islands, developed by Nakheel Properties and situated on the coast of Dubai, consists of over 300 small islands shaped after the continents. Sand from the shallow coastal waters surrounding Dubai’s beach was used to build this off-plan building in Dubai, which will join other artificial islands that have previously been built in the emirate’s waters. The islands in the middle of the ocean are arranged so that they make up a map of the entire earth.
The proposal that Nakheel Properties later transformed into The World Islands Dubai was initially planned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, of which Dubai is a part. World Islands Nakheel Database Online
The four separate subgroups of the World Islands are estate residences, dream resorts, community Islands, and individual homes. The individual islands that make up The World Islands Dubai property range in size from 250,000 to 900,000 square feet, and they are separated from one another by 50 to 100 metres of sea. Port Rashid is the closest seaport to The World Islands. Additionally, I’s location is close to Jumeirah Beach.
